Hazem Omran has been a devotee and follower of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (QS) since his early twenties after taking initiation into the Naqshbandi Way with Shaykh Adnan Kabbani in the Mosque of Grandshaykh Abdullah Daghestani (QS) in Damascus, 2003.
Hazem comes from a family of Egyptian descent and always had a love for the spiritual dimension of Islam. After studying traditional Islamic theology in his teenage years, Hazem met Shaykh Zubair Khandlawi of Delhi with whom he shared association for a number of years. Thereafter, significant portents led him to understand that his Guide would be the Master of the Naqshbandi Sufi Way, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim.
Hazem, with the support of his family, established the Naqshbandi Haqqani zikr circles in Australia in the early years from their home in Melbourne. After some time Hazem met Shaykh Abdul-Wahid and since this time has supported and been of great service in the development of our Sufi circle of love.
He continues to lead the traditional khatm khwajagan zikr in Melbourne at our weekly gatherings.
